Local Files Club: a short introduction
Logo artist: David Watt

My name is Adam Cecil, and I’m the founder of Local Files Club, a new audio fiction label based in beautiful East London.

Local Files Club publishes short-form and experimental audio fiction, ranging the gamut from traditional audiodramas to monologue-filled concept albums to soundscape mash-ups and more. In short: if it’s audio that uses dramatic devices to tell a story in under 90 minutes, consider me interested.

Unlike a podcast network, Local Files Club shows are available for one-time purchase. You buy a show and those files are yours, forever, to enjoy however you wish. The shows also come with bonus materials, like full soundtracks, commentary tracks, and concept art—the kind of stuff you might get from a Patreon or other crowdfunding campaign. And of course, they’re all ad free.

Like a podcast network, Local Files Club provides marketing, publicity, distribution, and creative support to its artists. Through editorial and social media, I’m looking to build a community of listeners who love this type of audio fiction—short, a little weird, and hard to monetize through more established methods.

I hope you’ll join me in this grand experiment. Our first release, from the producers behind Kane & Feels, is coming later this fall. Subscribe to the Local Files Club newsletter to hear about it first, or follow Local Files Club on Bandcamp, BlueskyInstagram and Threads, or on the Fediverse (@posts@localfiles.club).
